City lost in the Forest

Carrow Road (256 Colours)NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 NORWICH CITY 0 | 🔰Farke’s Impressed. The fans aren’t. The results speak for themselves. Something has to change soon…

Has anyone seen the Norwich City team from September? The fans would like them back, please. While Daniel Farke may believe this was the best away performance of the season to date, City left the City Ground with 0 points. And from all accounts, never really looked like scoring. Again.

Things have to change

I’m not one for changing managers. I liked Alex Neil. I like Daniel Farke. But I fear he may be going the way of his predecessor. I hope he doesn’t. Like how Neil raised Seb Bassong’s performances when he first joined the club, the improvements in Timm Klose and Ivo Pinto suggest Farke has some motivational skills. James Maddison purrs about the style of football the German wants to play. The way he turned around poor early season form shows he has talent. The aim now is to repeat that trick once again.

So, if a change is not coming in the dugout, it will have to come on the pitch.  The increasingly imminent return of Alex Pritchard should help. If Alex Tettey were to return ahead of schedule that would be a bonus too. But at the minute we’re reliant on the players who are failing.

It wouldn’t take much to turn it around. Move the ball a bit faster. Make a better decision in the final third. Take the chances when they come.

Keeping the ball is the hardest part of Farke’s philosophy. The players have proved they can do that. Now they need to combine it with some of the creative attacking of last year to start moving back up the table again. A confident Cameron Jerome will score goals. A fit Nelson Oliveira likewise.

Simple right?
